World Can't Wait, Antelope Valley

Finally, we have details! After a lot of feet-dragging by local officials, we finally have a date and time for the World Can't Wait AV rally. Tired of Bush-league fascism?

The Oct 5 WCW Lancaster Rally

When: October 5, 9 AM

Where: If you will march up Lancaster Blvd, we can meet at 44729 Fern Ave, Lancaster, CA APPROXIMATELY 8:00 AM - 8:30. Lancaster Blvd is a short
walk from here. My phone # is 951-1758.

(a little shabby yellow frame house with a badly overgrown lawn -- thanks to the catastrophic business choices of the Bush administration, my business has tanked, so my across the street neighbor, the former Republican mayor of Lancaster, is getting a little peaceful demonstration of what has happened to our country via the deterioration of my house. Be sure to wave at His Honor.)

We'll congregate (across from the police department, at Lancaster Blvd and Sierra Highway) at the Bowling Plaza (aka airplane plaza - just look for the big gnarly A4 plane sitting in the
middle of the corner) for the Lancaster protest. Anyone who wishes to can continue
on from here to the Los Angeles WCW protest. I'd imagine parking at Metrolink is an option, if you wish to skip the march and just turn up for the rally. There will be speeches until our train leaves at 11:27. Once exiting the train at Union Station take the Red Line two stops to Pershing Square, where we will then walk down to the Federal building.
Metrolink AV information is available here -- we will join the Pershing Square WCW Mass 1:45 -- plenty of time before the 3pm Tour March. Click here for more info on the LA WCW March. Metrolink schedules and fares.

People can return from LA Union Station at 5:30, 6:30, 7:30, or 9pm.

Students & adults can bring poster-signs, food to share, or donations for fares.

Here is the link to the printable protest material. (PDF File) Anyone who can print up any of this, is welcome to please do so. Again, due to the flare up of my &%^$# lupus leg problem, I cannot go around as I did before. Local copy shops are good about this sort of thing.

You may also want to print up flyers to hand to anyone who approaches you regarding your reasons, etc.

Note: Police may say you cannot march or rally because of traffic problems or having to pay police overtime or such excuses. In general (and remember this is not legal advice) our free speech and assembly rights trump city inconvenience. Local Lancaster police are notoriously quick to anger. Remember, most of these people are still on our side. Lets not give the minority of them reason to cause us problems.
